“ We had a great time as a group of friends! Shelby was a great coach and was guiding us throughout our session. He was so kind and even made sure that we would get all of our allocated time. I would definitely come back. The place is spacious and they had a lot of drink and snack options. They have free parking right outside and gave you parking permits so it was really convenient to travel here. ”

After we signed in, we walked to our bay, I got a beer from the bar, and then the staff member in charge of our bay walked us through the rules and gave some instructions on how to correctly throw the axes. “ I helped to host a birthday party at Urban Axes in Somerville, MA, and it was an absolute blast! From the moment we arrived, the energy was high, and we knew we were in for a great time. The facility is spacious and well-maintained, with plenty of lanes for throwing axes and a fun, laid-back atmosphere perfect for a group celebration. There were about 20 of us and we had two lanes (four throwers at a time) to ourselves with tables and space to socialize. What really made the experience stand out, though, was our coach, Drew. He was outstanding! Drew made sure everyone felt comfortable, from first-timers to those who had thrown axes before. His instructions were clear, and he kept the energy up throughout the whole event. Not only did he teach us the right technique, but he also made the experience super fun, with plenty of laughs and friendly competition. The staff at Urban Axes was friendly and helpful, making sure the party ran smoothly. There is a small private parking lot but you will need a pass. They have a great selection of drinks and a few snacks. Everyone had a great time, and it was a memorable way to celebrate! I highly recommend Urban Axes for anyone looking for a fun, unique birthday party experience. And if you get Coach Drew, you're in for a real treat! ”
“ Awesome experience! Coach Dan is charismatic, instructive, and funny. He took me from total beginner to pretty consistent thrower in just an hour. Very safe, affordable, and lots of fun. If you come here, you need to close out your booking at the end. Did not know and didn't do it -- so sorry about that! ”

“ Our time at Urban Axes was one of the top three activities on our recent vacation. This was my second time to their location in Somerville, and they did not disappoint. With in-laws visiting, they expressed interest in trying this activity because it's not available where they are. My first visit, about six years ago, was for a Friday night. While this had worked for the group back then, I decided an earlier reservation on Saturday would be best to avoid crowds. We had the entire building to ourselves and had the most wonderful coach, Shelby (I may not remember your name correctly, and I'm VERY sorry). Shelby provided the basics for the in-laws and a refresher to my husband and myself, then was on point with all suggestions. His keen eye and tips enhanced our performance as players, and we all were able to land bullseyes a few times. My in-laws are both left-hand dominant, and Shelby had no difficulty reversing his techniques so they could be efficient axe throwers. The other aspect I really enjoyed was the relaxed atmosphere. While competing, there are electronic scoreboards above the lanes, and the coach keeps track of points, but the objective of your time at Urban Axes is focused on the experience. The coaches want everyone to learn how to properly throw an axe and discover a new and highly enjoyable activity. Other companies are fixated on the competition and bragging rights, but we all walked out with the biggest smiles cause we all won. I highly recommend reserving your time at Urban Axes for any group. It's a fantastic experience and you'll have the best time with Shelby! ”
“ Despite living down the street from this spot for years, I had never been in! My friend was passing through town and we were trying to kill time before going to the airport so we stopped in here and it ended up being so fun! The instructors were super helpful and were able to whip us into axe throwing shape in no time. The experience was so fun I decided to go back just a month later for my birthday! A great time, I would highly recommend. ”
